Land-Use Planning in the Sangha Trinational Landscape
A workshop was recently held to develop a land-use plan for the Sangha Trinational, based on existing biological and socio-economic data, as well technical documents such as management plans. The workshop was held in Bayanga in December 2005, and was attended by national and NGO representatives from each site, as well as experts from outside the region. The workshop benefited from the progress which has been made within TNS landscape in each country segment with the development of management plans for the national parks and surrounding multiple use zones.
The resulting document will provide broad management guidelines for managing natural resources in the trinational landscape, highlighting areas which necessitate cross boundary interventions and coordination both now and in the future.
